This tour will acquaint you with Sofia's most famous points of interest. First is the Alexander Nevski cathedral, followed by The Crypt, St. Sofia church, Russian church, King's palace, The Rotunda, The mosque and the Synagogue. Visit Boyana church and National history museum.
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is an ancient town, dating back from centuries ago. Relics are well preserved and match perfectly to the new modern city. The Icon museum, The Crypt within the Memorial church - St. Aleksander Nevski - has kept an unbelievable treasure of well preserved icons. The tolerant spirit of Sofia could be felt when visiting the Eastern Orthodox church, the Islamic mosque and the Jewish Synagogue. A charming mixture between modern life and a somehow Oriental spirit coupled with extremely friendly people is an experience not to be missed.
Rila monastery
Explore Rila monastery, the biggest monastery in Bulgaria and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hidden away in the Rila Mountains, it is one of the most revered holy places in the country.
Rila monastery is a national icon for Bulgarians, and a wonderfully situated monument of the highest architectural and historic interest. It is protected under the shield of UNESCO, and contains the remarkable frescoes and wooden Cross - are historical pieces of medieval art.
Kavala
Take the advantage from the close proximity of Bansko to the southern neighbor of Bulgaria. You will have the pleasure to enjoy a wonderful drive across the Rhodope mountains to Kavala, a nice city in the northern part of Greece with nice beaches on the Aegean Sea.
