3-day Sofia city break with Rila monastery visit.
Founded more than seven millenia ago, Sofia today is an exciting meeting place of of history and present. Traces of the life of Tracians and Romans, Proto-Bulgarians and Slavs are woven into the city's busy life. Some 250 architectural, archaeological and historic monuments have been preserved in the modern capital.
Guaranteed tour every Friday. The tour may start on every other day of the week on request.
Dates:
Day 1
Arrival at Sofia airport and transfer to the chosen hotel. Time at your disposal. Overnight.
Day 2
Breakfast in hotel. Walking city tour with private guide (2 hours).
Monuments: St.Alexander Nevski Cathedral, one of the most remarkable monuments of Orthodox culture in Bulgaria, built in 1912 in Neobyzantine style; “Sveta Sofia” church, which was built on the site of several earlier churches and places of worship dating back to the days when it was the necropolis of the Roman town of Serdica; St. George Rotunda, considered as the oldest building in Sofia, built by the time when Emperor Constantine the Great had been staying in Sofia.
Overnight.
Day 3
Breakfast. Time at your disposal. Overnight.
Excursion to Rila monastery with may be ordered on spot (not included in the tour price).
Day 4
Breakfast. Private transfer to airport Sofia and departure.
